A lesser spotted red from this area – an unoaked and fresh Sangiovese, Merlot and Lacrima blend. Medium bodied with crunchy red cherry and earthy notes on the nose. It has cherry and kirsch on the palate with fine grained tannins – a lovely food wine that pairs well with charcuterie and hard mature cheeses.

A 25hA organic estate, Borgo Pagliantetto is located in one of Italy’s best kept wine secrets – the Verdicchio di Matelica area in Le Marche. Producing fresher wines than Verdicchio di Jesi the area has a fantastic indigenous white grape in Verdicchio and great growing conditions to produce complex whites. Borgo Paglianetto’s wines with winemaker Angelo Carucci at the helm have received great success in the last few years – wines well worth trying if you like complex, fresh and mineral wines.
