red wine
Maso Canthangel Pinot Nero
A Pinot for the purist and to rival many an expressive and complex Cote d’Or Pinot Noir.
Made with precision by Federico Simoni, fermented in large oak with daily maceration by hand. Post fermentation ageing is in French oak for 12 months. The wine shows cherry and redcurrant notes, spice, sous bois and toasty, earthy notes. Silky smooth yet fresh on the palate with a long, long finish. Less than 5,000 bottles made per vintage.

the producer
Maso Catanghel
Maso Cantanghel is a small boutique producer run by Federico Simoni (see Cantine Monfort). All the plots are certified organic and we list his terrific Sotsas Bianco of which he only makes around 3000 bottles per year and his superlative Pinot Nero.
