Le Clos Du Beau-pere Pomerol
This vineyard is in honour of Murielle’s father who prefers Pomerol wines. It is built on a mix of soils – deep gravel, gravel/clay & sand/clay – and so offers versatility and flexibility in each vintage. It is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The Cabernet Franc adds structure and acidity and balances out the richness of the Merlot. It benefits from 18 months in oak barrels. This is a big wine from a small 4hA vineyard.

the producer
Jean-Luc Thunevin
Jean-Luc is one of the biggest names in Bordeaux. With his wife Murielle, he produced his first Valandraud wine in his garage, coining the term and marketing concept “garage wine”. They have since created Virginie de Valandraud and 3 de Valandraud, and have added the properties of Clos du Beau-Pere and Domaine des Sabines to the portfolio. Both Jean-Luc and his wines have now achieved a worldwide cult-following. From a St. Emilion garage to a global showroom, so to speak.
