Red wine
La Ganghija Nebbiolo d’Alba Enzo Rapalino
Benchmark Nebbiolo showing plenty of the trademark roses and tar – red cherry fruit with notes of liquorice and wild herbs. Fine grained tannins coat the wine but the fruit and the complex aromatics all make for a very satisfying and balanced wine.

the producer
La Ganghija
Based in Treiso near Alba, Enzo Rapalino is a talented winemaker who has transformed his family’s wine business in the space of just over a decade. The previous generations of the Rapalino family used to sell their grapes to large producers in the area. Enzo changed all this by going to college to qualify as a winemaker and built a winery in 2004. He hasn’t looked back since, winning lots of awards and exporting to multiple countries. Largely making fragrant and complex Nebbiolo-based wines he also makes a fruit-filled delicious Barbera d’Alba too. We met him first in 2010 and we can enthusiastically attest to the qualities of the man and the wines in the past 10 years.
