the producer
Estate Argyros
The Argyros family have been making wine on their estate in Santorini since 1903 with enthusiasm and pride – which has captured the estate, and the wines many prizes in recent years. Mathew Argyros is now running the estate which continues to produce classy mineral-laden whites made from some of the oldest vines on Santorini (up to 200 years old). Assyrtiko is the signature grape which is grown low to the ground to avoid the excessive heat and winds that freshen the vineyard’s micro climate. All soils are volcanic in origin leading to a distinct minerality in the wines.
