The grapes are Carignan, Mourvedre and Cinsault. This is a big, savoury, flavoursome wine that puts the terroir of Faugeres in a bottle. It has a complex nose with layers of dark broody fruit, hints of smoke and wild herbs from the garrigue. You could spend the evening working this one out. And it is as natural as they come – organic farming, ambient yeasts, zero sulphites, unfiltered & unfined. You name it.

Clos Fantine
The Faugeres AOC is located north-west of Beziers in the foothills of the Massif Central. It is the perfect terroir to let nature decide the wine – it is warm, wild and windy. Clos Fantine is a small family estate run by siblings Caroline, Olivier and Corinne Andrieu. Biodiversity abounds at this vineyard. There are no wire-trained vines here – all the plantings are natural bush vines. And things like pumping over – unheard of! Naturally!
