Classic Christmas Sextet – in wooden box – €155.00

Contraste, Douro

Rich, powerful yet balanced red aged with 70% of the blend aged for 18 months in oak. Multi-layered and complex wine with blackberry, smoke, violet, spice, dark chocolate and spice. On the palate it has ample mouthfeel with fine grained tannins that will allow this wine to age for 5 or more years.

Vignole Chianti Classico – Out of stock. Replaced by Le Corti Chianti Classico

Le Corti is a lovely juicy and characterful rendition of Chianti Classico. Lots of Morello cherry with lifted eucalypt, nutmeg, violet, mediterranean herbs and strained tea leaves on the nose. Organically certified and made with 100% Sangiovese the wine tends towards full body on the palate and has lots of energy. character and balance. Very moreish!

Valenciso Barrel Fermented White Rioja

Made from very old Viura and Garnacha Blanca vines fermented and aged in oak barrels from the Caucasus which lend a very subtle oakiness to the wine. It shows lots of stone fruit with layers of spice and nuts, minerality and a beautiful rich mouth feel.

CimAlta Soave Classico

Rich and round and made exclusively from Garganega. Grapes grown in the highest part of the Soave Classico area. Here we have warmer yellow and stone fruit with distinct smoky and mineral notes. Fuller than medium body with a lovely round mouth feel and a long, mineral finish.

Chateau Tour Labatut, Montagne St. Emilion – Out of stock. Replaced by Ch. Haut Myles, Medoc AC Cru Bourgeois

Ch. Haut Myles has had Cru Bourgeois status since 1932 and this wine is a regular award winner. It is a blend of approx. 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Located on the higher terrain of Blaignan in the Medoc, the vines benefit from good drainage on clay-limestone soils. As you would expect you get the roundness and richness of Merlot combined with the complexity and depth of Cabernet. Black, blue and red fruits with violets, licorice, green peppers and herbaceous, savoury minerality.

La Ganghija Nebbiolo d’Alba

Benchmark Nebbiolo showing plenty of the trademark roses and tar – red cherry fruit with notes of liquorice and wild herbs. Fine grained tannins coat the wine but the fruit and the complex aromatics all make for a very satisfying and balanced wine.
