We’ve got you sorted here at H2G Wines with our wonderful Christmas case for this year. We’ve covered the options for matching all of the seasonal foods with Cava, a great white all-rounder, 3 reds from light and lithe to smooth and rich plus a fabulous Tawny Port. You can pick it up in our Wine Bar & Shop on Botanic Avenue or we can ship it anywhere in the Republic of Ireland.

Cava Idilicum Brut Nature NV – €25.95 Cava DO, Spain

A creamy, well balanced Cava made by Dominio de la Vega from Macabeo grapes grown at altitude on cool limestone soils.Works wonderfully well with a whole host of foods – smoked fish, shellfish, white meats and more besides.

Hermanos Lurton Verdejo – €19.50 Rueda, Spain

A lovely aromatic and fresh white wine made with 100% Verdejo grapes grown organically. A great partner with seafood, white meats or just as an aperitif.

Domaine les Salices Pinot Noir – €17.95 Languedoc, France

Hailing from a Domaine north of Carcassonne this red fruited and savoury flavoured Pinot goes really well with gamey white meats, duck and goose and hard mature cheeses.

Guadalupe Tinto,  Quinta do Quetzal – €18.95 Alentejo, Portugal

This is a great all round red to savour with red meats or, it is just as enjoyable all on its own. Mainly made with Trincadeira and Aragonez the small proportion of Alfrocheiro gives the wine a lovely freshness that will have you going back for another glass.

Le Corti Chianti Classico – €27 Tuscany, Italy

A lovely juicy and characterful rendition of Chianti Classico. Lots of Morello cherry with eucalypt, nutmeg, violet, and mediterranean herbs on the nose. Organically certified and made with 100% Sangiovese the wine tends towards full body on the palate and has lots of energy. character and balance. Very moreish!

Conceito 10 year old Tawny Port – €37.00 Douro, Portugal

A must for the festive period – this Port has notes of caramel, figs, dates, plums and licorice. Great with a host of traditional dessert dishes and  blue cheese. Or if you prefer, it’s not half bad on it’s own by a roaring fire!
