Belondrade Quinta Apolonia – H2G Wines
White wine

Belondrade Quinta Apolonia

A great intro to the estate’s wines made from 100% Verdejo with one third fermented in oak. Creamy and textured with notes of melon, stone fruit and minerality. If you like wines from the Maconnais (Pouilly Fuisse & Co.) then this is one for you.

the producer

Belondrade y Lurton

Didier Belondrade set up camp in Rueda in 1994 having recognized the potential for making high quality whites from the local grape Verdejo. He’s fared pretty well since and his whites are perenially recognized as not only some of the best in Rueda but the best in Spain. The 40hA estate is divided in 23 plots which are meticulously cared for – viticulture is organically certified (which they don’t put on the label). The wines are made in a Burgundian style with lots of creamy texture.
