Jerome and Myriam Boudier have owned Domaine des Florets, just to the east of Gigondas village, since 2007. It occupies 8hA on the steep foothills of the impressive Dentelles de Montmirail mountains. The 40 year old vines benefit from a number of natural micro aspects which improve phenolic ripening. Planted at 500m, the vines benefit from cooler night-time temperatures. Many of the vines have a north-east facing aspect and are spared direct contact with the searing heat of the southern sun. And many more of the vines are shaded from the sun by the high rocks of the mountains. These natural aids ensure the aromas and flavours of the grapes are fully developed and in balance with natural sugar levels.
