An historic estate making wines in Tufo going back a number of centuries. In 1647 Scipione di Marzo left the outskirts of Napoli to settle in the town of Tufo. He took with him cuttings of the vine variety Greco and thus became the first person to cultivate Greco in the area of Tufo. Today his descendant Ferrante di Somma runs the estate and the wine from the area – Greco di Tufo DOCG – has become famous as one of Italy’s highest quality white wines. Ferrante is reviving the estate to it’s former glory and the wines made from both Greco and Fiano are some of the best white wines from Campania.
